AHL Booster Club Convention

AAHLBCC

What is the AAHLBCC? You may wonder exactly what those letters mean. Even if you come to the monthly meetings and you hear a convention report or others talk about this event, you may still question what exactly is it. The letters stand for Association of American Hockey League Booster Club Convention. It is an annual event held the weekend after Labor Day in September. Booster Clubs in the league take turns in hosting the event. The official start of the convention is Friday afternoon and ends after breakfast on Sunday. Many people come earlier in the week to visit their friends and the sites of the host city. On Friday evening, there is a buffet dinner, a voluntary costume contest of that year’s theme, and then dancing to a DJ’s music. After that is over, fun continues in the a Hospitality Room, where there are card games, dice games and conversations going on until sometimes early the next morning. On Saturday morning each club sets up a table and club members visit the tables and take their chances on the raffles. After breakfast and the raffles, a General Membership Meeting takes place. The rest of the day is free to enjoy some side trips that the host club has in place. The Saturday evening dinner is more of a dress-up sit down dinner and there is a guest speaker after the dinner. After that the festivities continue in the hospitality room. Sunday morning is another breakfast and then members begin going their separate ways to end the convention. It is a great time to meet people from other clubs and also find out different things they do as a club. Next September is Hershey’s turn to host the event. It is going to be held September 11-13, 2026. It would be great to have a large amount of people from our club attending. For more information stop by the booster club table.
